I have been getting some very touching stories from fellow riders that have figured out ways to ride with their physical "challenges" so I am starting a new page about them. If you have an interesting story and some pics of you and your amazing horses, please send them along and I will post them on this page. Other challenged riders and their amazing stories. I have the greatest admiration for you all and thank you for all your kind words of encouragement. It helps to know that there are such wonderful, supportive people out there in the world that are also living their dreams... I just re-read your web site and wanted you to know how courageous I think you are. I was born with a spinal bifida but the Lord saw fit that I was to live through it and do all the things I wanted to do, including horseback riding. I have a half paint half draft horse that I ride and he is the sweetest horse I have ever had. I have not mastered the ability to have him get down on the ground for me to mount him, but we do have steps he comes right up to and allows me to get on from the wrong side as people would say. When I am through riding he walks right back up by the steps and waits for me to get off and come down the steps to lead me away. Please keep up the good work and we hope to see you in the next few days! *David R. here in the great state of Texas.
![]() Kirsten,
I am very impressed with your web-site. I too am a handicapped rider. I hate
using that word, maybe "challenged" sounds better. I am missing three fingers
from my right hand and am missing my left arm from the elbow down. I have
adapted very well. My son and I playday. We have such fun. The only problem
is we are using the same horse. I'm tired of switching out tack after every
event. I don't recall seeing a horse on your web-site that was described as
a barrel or pole prospect. Perhaps you could e-mail me and tell me if you have
anything that could possibly work for me. I love the training philosophy you
have and would LOVE a horse that would lay down for me (just kidding). I
share your outlook on the soothing and awesome feeling owning a horse provides
to me! i just need another one. My horse, Yella, is exceptional-I am very
spoiled. I will be very selective in purchasing a horse. But, after looking
at your web-site, you seem the type of person I would like to buy a horse
from.

About Me:
Kirsten Klindworth - I have been riding, breeding, training, handling, marketing, appraising, showing, loving and (more recently) driving horses for 35+ years. I now own, helped train and am fortunate enough to breed the 2009 World Jumping Champion MFTHBA stallion - Shaker's Jamaican Pride - and many Reserve Champion Mares as well as Top 5 and Top 10 winners. Horses have filled my life with joy, humor, love and compassion and I believe that they deserve the same in return. "Horses will give you so much more with their heart than you can ever win with fear" is my motto. I created www.Greattrailhorse.com 10 years ago and now hope to share any extra horse-knowledge I have (mostly accidentally) acquired throughout the years with you on www.EHorseVideos.com . Many happy trails to you!
